Nelaryotar is a magical forest situated in the northern region of Miradelgûn. It came into existence during the Lith-Crillion Era, the result of rogue experiments conducted at Belêth-Kazîr. Within this crystalline tower, an insane Lith-Crillion utilized forbidden sorcery, creating a spatial rift between the realms of Kriav and Bal-Kriav. Consequently, two forests swapped positions. For unknown reasons, perhaps a disruption in the arcane energies of the Web, this transformation became permanent.
Nelaryotar is an exotic, otherworldly forest, even more maddening in its contents. Arcanists who have studied the area claim that disruptive arcane energies abound. In some form or another, all of the energy types can be found here. Nelaryotar is home to both normal and magical creatures. Visitors may encounter a vast array of magical beings, including disenchanters, digesters, lamia, dragonne, displacer beasts, living spells, arcane oozes, and constructs, to name just a few. This latter group ranges from the diminutive homunculus to the colossal iron and blutium golems. These constructs were once the guardians or servants of Gimir-Zarun, created thousands of years ago. They have been destroyed countless times, only to eventually regenerate, fueled by the forest's abundant magical energies.
The vegetation of Nelaryotar has been observed spontaneously igniting, only to regrow entirely from the ashes. Even more uncommon are those composed of living metal, typically found only on the world of Mechanus. Seedlings and young trees of this material are highly sought after, commanding exorbitant prices from those able to afford them. The anomalies of this forest extend far beyond these phenomena, with many yet to be documented. Exploration of the region is exceedingly perilous due to the prevalent magical hazards.
