This civil war concluded Mir'piamauza's millennium-long reign. Plagued by soaring inflation and debt, the inability to appease subjugated populations led to unrest and the eventual fragmentation of the empire. Some of its holdings gained independence as city-states, others fell to new conquerors, and the empire's former capital, among others, descended into obscurity.
The capital city of Mir'piamauza, Kathodrarg, became a nightmarish place due to this conflict. The ruins of this once-great city are strewn with the bones and skulls of the thousands of Gradorian who perished when Kathodrarg was ravaged by pestilence and disease. These unfortunate souls met their demise amidst the intense fighting within the city, as rival factions battled each other from street to street and house to house. With no one to tend to the sick, they were left to perish alone, which is believed to be the reason the city has become a haven for ghosts and other malevolent spirits.
The civil war fragmented Mir'piamauza into autonomous city-states. Some, like Kathodrarg, grew uninhabitable, while others were left vulnerable to exploitation by rivals.
