In 348 LE, a Lith-Crillion exploration party departed Aggda for the shores of Maziggandîm. In this western coastal area, they commenced searching for relics and structures remaining from the Creation War and Demon Spawn War. These explorers, still adhering to the modus operandi of the Crillion Comet - to collect, catalog, and secure - were militarists who had strayed from their path. They pursued advanced technology, and unlike other Lith-Crillion based on Arcana Isle, tended to resort to violence when diplomatic efforts failed.
For the Lith-Crillion expeditionary force, the Sâlo Tânê 12 out of Aggda, the region of greatest fascination was Nemexus. During the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), Nemexus served as the dwelling and research hub for a disembodied thinker named Ingu'lumin.
The Lith-Crillion, beholding the magnificent architecture of the place and aware that it must conceal perilous relics, embarked on a path to secure it. However, the current proprietors, the Tarband-Khâl, rebuffed all entreaties to investigate the site. Even when informed of the potential hazards, including tales of the devastating weapons and destruction from the Creation War and the not-too-distant Demon Spawn War, they remained steadfast in their refusal.
You claim to come in peace, searching for relics that will advance civilization for all allies of the Lith-Crillion, yet you arrive heavily armed and with units positioned in distant military camps. Therefore, if we refuse to grant you access to Nemexus, will you seize it by force?

Diplomacy soon broke down, leading to war. The army of Tarband-Khâl found itself hard-pressed; a single Lith-Crillion of Sâlo Tânê 12 was reportedly the equal of ten of their own men. The Lith-Crillion deployed magic and other technological marvels that rendered Tarband-Khâl's forces seemingly archaic. The most formidable of these were squat golems, standing 20 feet tall, which hurled disc-shaped projectiles at the towers, walls, and even troop concentrations, with each one capable of felling a dozen defenders. Tarband-Khâl managed to hold out as long as they did through sheer numerical superiority, with a population of 30,000 - a hundred times larger than the invading force.
Sâlo Tânê 12 altered their tactical approach in the third year of the conflict, shifting their assault against Nemexus. They successfully secured this location three months later and commenced its defense. It was within this place that they uncovered ancient primordial artifacts and troves of literature, granting them invaluable insight into the Web of Magic, a resurgence of the lost art of Webweaving.
The Andam Gathal, the archives of Munarkûn, has a comprehensive record of the Maziggandîm Conflict. One rune tablet states that the Lith-Crillion emerged from Nemexus hurling bolts and balls of energy that grew in strength within months rather than the decades required for Web Weaver mastery. If this account is accurate, they either learned the techniques at a faster pace than today's practitioners, or they uncovered the secrets of Ingu'lumin for manipulating the Web.

Near the end of 352 LE, the Tarband-Khâl were nearing collapse. In a time of despondency, cultists of Baalzebul infiltrated Tarband-Khâl society. These agents promised aid and even a place of refuge against their remorseless attackers. The most dangerous and persuasive of these cultists were the Disciples of Baalzebul. They demonstrated their mettle by assassinating one of the top intelligence personnel of the Lith-Crillion within Nemexus. Over the subsequent year, Baalzebul's cultists had permeated every unit fighting for the defense of Tarband-Khâl. Their intelligence-gathering proved so proficient that they supplanted Tarband-Khâl's army intelligence. Even with these advantages, the Lith-Crillion assault gradually gained momentum. During this time, most of the non-combatants were sequestered in mining camps or the tunnels of Zurukthûr. Some even ventured deeper to an area of Unaraggumak that served as the training and learning domain for the cultists of Baalzebul.
On 19 Witchrite 355 LE, Tarband-Khâl succumbed to the invaders. They permitted the vanquished to join their kinsmen in Zurukthûr. Additionally, they declared that due to their dishonorable tactics and pacts with dark forces, the people were forever barred from re-establishing themselves within Tarband-Khâl.
Tarband-Khâl's high command sought to renew hostilities after a period of reorganization and resupply. However, their resolve was swayed by the Inner Circle, the preeminent Disciples of Baalzebul. As a parting gesture, the Lith-Crillion provided them with several chests' worth of scrolls and tomes plundered from Nemexus. Included among these was a volume on the experimental utilization of steam pressure to drive water pumps.
