Nemexus, a remarkable feat of engineering, was constructed by the disembodied thinker Ingu'lumin. This architectural marvel served as his abode and research center during the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) . Upon Ingu'lumin's demise in 402 LE, the release of those who would patrol the ancient edifice and the surrounding land was triggered. To this day, air elementals continue to carry out their security directives, guarding Nemexus from any who seek to enter. When one of Nemexus's Eternal Wardens perishes, another is released from the structure's myriad secret vaults, assuming its predecessor's duties or executing the last order it was given.

The library of ancient lore within Nemexus houses unconventional materials, not mere books or rune-inscribed stones. Ingu'lumin's "writings," which would eventually be designated as psychic imprints, are presented through the medium of psychic energy.

Ingu'lumin's psychic imprints are scattered across a massive edifice spanning six square miles. Some imprints can only be accessed by flight, situated among the rotating earth mote rings. Nemexus, a manifestation of entropy, did not leave an orderly path, with imprints dispersed as if in the Sea of Entropy. Regrettably, these imprints are constantly shifting positions. Studying anything at Nemexus is a time-consuming and perilous endeavor. The hazards extend beyond the air elementals, including the magical constructs left by the Lith-Crillion during their control of the site. The Lith-Crillion acquired this place during the Maziggandîm Conflict ( 348 LE - 355 LE ) , just as the previous owners, the Tarband-Khâl, had sought Ingu'lumin's library.

After their capture of Nemexus, the Lith-Crillion of Sâlo Tânê 12 discovered meticulously hidden chambers. Accessing these required a profound grasp of arcane energy. These secret rooms resembled immovable portable holes, recesses within the Web of Magic. These and other findings at Nemexus spurred the revival of the long-lost art of Webweaving.
