In the Horgon Era, the cliffs of Throa Sveid became renowned for their avian inhabitants and prized eggs, a delicacy savored by the elite of the fallen Hofthorm Empire. In 253 HE, the nesting cliffs were designated as state property, and the fire-giant founders established Arnogrygg as a royal lodge and provisioning hub for ducal hunting expeditions.

What began as an aristocratic retreat blossomed into a fortified coastal settlement, its terraces and cranes sculpting the cliff-face to supply a floating harbor below. Its populace included fire giants, hobgoblins, and subjugated bullywug—whose customary excesses were constrained under Hofthorm dominion.

Dynastic upheaval following the demise of King Hlimi fractured Hofthorm's authority, and during the ensuing turmoil, hobgoblins and bullywugs allied to overthrow the giant overlords. Consequently, Arnogrygg emerged as an autonomous city-state and a hub within Nermanean trade networks. The recession of the Nermanis Sea reduced its harbor to sand, precipitating a period of decline until the Khazarkar annexation in 1390, which reinstated military oversight and renewed purpose.
