The Vauquix were a formidable demonic regiment that arrived in Bal-Kriav during the Demon Spawn War. This abyssal unit excelled at guerrilla tactics, masterfully concealing their presence and infiltrating enemy lines. They posed a significant challenge to the virtuous forces they encountered in battle.

I loathe demons, yet one must proffer a modicum of esteem when they adeptly evade encirclement. For a decade, we have been powerless to bring conclusion to the Vauquix. The Rifts have sealed, and the demonic incursion has ceased, yet this unit persists. We can but hope they destroy themselves from within before the mortals come to rule this world.

Ares, from a Scroll of Dawn - "The Vauquix"

The Vauquix were commanded by a crafty demon known as Aperoq. This demonic leader, in turn, reported to Graz'zt. One of the final major battles of the Demon Spawn War took place at Imrabêl, where the demons were routed. The Vauquix regiment was the sole group that remained intact and evaded the angelic pursuers. Aperoq led the unit deep into the Underdark and resisted the urge to dominate any beings encountered. By the conclusion of the God Era, no sightings or information about the Vauquix had emerged. The forces of the Quara'tun Covenant dispersed during the Angelic Departure (270 GE - 274 GE), leaving mortals to address any remaining demons. Soon after, the Vauquix emerged from concealment, venturing to the surface and initiating a campaign of devastation and subjugation. In the jungles of Ma'Ohari, the Vauquix were disbanded, becoming soldiers or petty lords answering to Aperoq, the overlord of the newly established empire Varelay.
