When the Durkoth of Abâthigûr descended beneath the waves during the Durkoth Descent (995 HE - 1355 HE), the aquatic peoples of Tregmauroth were the first to fall under Durkoth influence. In the deeps southeast of the Lands of Purity and in the northern region of the Buccaneer Archipelago, the newcomers subjugated the ixitxachitl, the Scrag, and others. They constructed the great undersea city of Ogharkú to serve their new masters.
When the Durkoth inexplicably vanished into their eternal sanctuaries, the populace assumed control of their own matters. In the Year 72, after a protracted civil conflict, Queen Ranturâpha founded an empire under her sovereign rule. The dynastic Ranturâpha lineage has endured to the present.
Ranturâpha preys upon other aquatic races and landlubbers who venture into their sea domain. They have long maintained an alliance with the Black Tide of Thasmudyan.
The Ranturâpha are comprised of numerous adversarial factions that fall under the dominion of a single tyrannical overseer during the event known as "The Deep Hunts." This is a period when vast hordes of these entities launch incursions from Orat-Khagor into the territories of the Tuc'hoom and other competitor groups.
