In 1251, zealots of the Mîm Khazun sect from Tarbhunarâg invoked the final incantation of a formidable enchantment. This spell aimed to harness the power of an entombed Primordial and channel it into a weapon of unparalleled might. However, the Mîm Khazun enchanters misjudged the sheer magnitude of the primordial's energy, leading to a catastrophic overflow that manifested as intense pressure waves. All in the immediate vicinity and most living things within a ten-mile radius were crushed and killed by the devastating pulses. The attempted ritual failed to produce the desired artifact, as the hammer was reduced to dust by the relentless pressure onslaught. It is believed that the Mîm Khazun's true ambition was not to create a weapon, but to trigger a cataclysmic earthquake that would delight Geb and perhaps even drain the legendary Pool of Nelshreen, freeing its fabled sirine.
Beneath the epicenter of the High Wood Quake, rifts were created between the worlds of Kriav and Bal-Kriav. These feywild fuses devastated the areas of Baranarth and Einreth, transforming verdant forests into desolate wastelands. This also led to the development of Nanyerien's entropic breaches. Some of the creatures now inhabiting these regions of Voternil and its depths are descendants of those once living on the world of Kriav.
