The Yanizabârs are a proud family, once wielding considerable influence within the First and, for a period, the Second Khazarkar Empire, before enduring disgrace due to the failings of one of their own.

The family was admitted to the prestigious noble ranks, the Minâth-Nôrî, in 1020. This occurred during the Eldritch Civil War when the Minâth-Nôrî's numbers required bolstering.

In its early days in the region of Gulimbor, the family worshipped the deity Kebechet. When the Second Khazarkar Empire emerged in 1027, a theocratic monotheism centered on the god Set was established. They were faced with the choice of either remaining and converting, or departing the empire. Rather than endure the hardships of the wilderness and abandon the Khazarkar's ancestral Cinazan homeland, they opted to convert.

In 1301, the Akumîlû, Khazarkar secret police, learned that Râlê Yanizabâr was a member of the Eldritch Conclave. Alerted that they were to be "liquidated" for conspiring with the enemy, a number of family members managed to flee the empire. The rosters of Minâth-Nôrî list them as liquidated, yet many Yanizabâr remain beyond the reach of the Khazarkar Empire. Several descendants of Râlê reside in the Conclave bastion of Malardân, while others dwell in distant lands.
