Arhibess, a member of the Hex Rangian, commanded the Witch Horde from 1809 to 1829. She adhered to the religious doctrines of the war deity Ares and the demon lord Orcus. Afflicted by a fragmented psyche, Arhibess was recruited by Orcus's agents. To appease Ares and earn his esteem, she had to triumph in combat.
In 1823, Arhibess, promoted to Witch Commander, led the empire on a sweeping military campaign in the name of Ares. Regrettably, the Witch Horde lacked a strong military foundation, as a result of past downsizing and the purging of those who had incurred Arhibess's displeasure, even in the slightest degree, leaving them with poorly trained leaders. The largest conquest was the capture of Helmstar. This sacking precipitated the Buruthran War (1824 - 1829), wherein Arhibess faced the zealous legions of the Luran Alliance.
At the Battle of Qijerqul, Arhibess was slain by Cathandril. Upon her demise, her final incantation manifested into an unending gale known as the Breath of Arhibess.
