Artang-Sund extended his lifespan through the use of longevity magic. However, he soon discovered, as have countless others before him, that such practices yield diminishing returns over time.
In the 10th year of the Horgon Era, the renowned hero Artang-Sund conquered the kobold settlement of Du'ul Hiim. His objective was to amass a loyal following, thereby earning the opportunity for Ascension and the coveted prize of immortality.
Artang-Sund presided over the Ashmerthoon Empire for a millennium. During his lengthy tenure, strongholds such as Du'ul Hiim evolved into locales of magnificent splendor.
In his later years, the aging and weakened Artang-Sund realized that his longevity magic was no longer effective. Recognizing that the end of his life was approaching, members of the Tinvaakin Kurtulmak persuaded him to reveal an ancient dragon ritual. They assured him that he would be remembered not only as a renowned leader, but also as a distinguished teacher. The magic they acquired was the Dragon Wake Ritual.
