In the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) , a primordial named Thyrm arrived at a region of Ice Cap that he christened Netheram. In this domain, he set out to construct a palace and a network of fortifications. Thyrm hoped that if the primordial invasion of Bal-Kriav failed, he could retreat to Netheram and take shelter there. He devised blueprints imbued with magic, measuring 10 feet wide and 20 feet long. Peering into certain areas would allow the viewer to delve deeper into additional blueprints, such that a single large blueprint provided access to a theoretically endless series of plans. Over time, Thyrm's Blueprints became tainted by chaotic energies or perhaps a fluctuation in the Web of Magic, and they took on a life of their own. Whenever someone comes into possession of Thyrm's Blueprints, they do not reveal what was accomplished at Netheram, but rather other possibilities - grandiose construction efforts requiring the toil of thousands and sometimes centuries of labor.
The frost giants constructed fortifications and subterranean complexes across Netheram over the course of seven centuries. The arduous labor of the subjugated populace only ceased after the mystical blueprints were purloined by Azwyr Amoruk thieves.
Centuries later, the blueprints were discovered in the Badmaer Region. The motivation, or what some may consider delusion, for constructing Arakkhalgam stemmed from Thyrms' Blueprints.
There are other places that suggest their builders had access to Thyrm's blueprints. The first is Krarthjar, a fire giant hold of such immense scale that it could never have been fully secured. The other is a maze beneath the Eastern Shar, known as the Apex Maze. The tunnels of this place span no less than twenty square miles and remain under construction even today. Many of Nevicanad's, the architect of the maze, diaries contain references to an "accursed blueprint".
