Constructed by those devoted to Coeus, Saelmgar comprised a series of complexes sprawled across mountainous spires. During the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), this expansive area functioned as an armaments factory in the war effort to repel the Creation.
In 2660 DE, the Covenant general Takarrûs assaulted Saelmgar. A doomed venture from the outset, the demise of Takarrûs precipitated a catastrophic explosion. This event tore open a rift, abducting a portion of Saelmgar and all within to the distant realm of Bal-Kriav. On this mortal plane, this alien landscape came to be known as Mughakh-Gol.
Built up over millennia during the Creation War, Saelmgar remains a perilous and anarchic region, scattered with almost a hundred dilapidated ruins.
