Type druidic lore

The origins of the Blighters stemmed from research conducted in the Mauhúl Valley. The endeavor commenced with druids exploring methods to counteract the numerical superiority of demons during the Demon Spawn War ( 89 GE - 269 GE ) . These druids were subsequently joined by alchemists and individuals skilled in disease management. They operated within a Covenant program that led to the development of a malady known as the RT-12 Leech. The vector was a plant, with each new growth giving rise to an infected specimen. A decade later, the plant vectors had spread throughout the Mauhúl Valley, rendering the region hazardous to traverse, prompting both sides to avoid it. The research undertaken in developing the RT-12 Leech and its predecessors led to an understanding of how to harness the nature energy coursing through plants. This knowledge, when inevitably misused, gave rise to a branch of druidic study, Traditionalist Blighter, which empowers its spells by draining the surrounding nature energy.

Instead of depleting the surrounding environment, Blighters can harness Dark Nature Energy to fuel their spells, rather than relying on nature energy. For those willing to beseech Melrith, this dark nature energy method often proves less constrained and more cost-effective than consuming the ambient nature energy.

The Wither-Blight Initiative

In the Khimrathil valley, Blighters have become the primary agents of the Pyramid of Anti-Nature's latest campaign: the Wither-Blight Initiative.

  • Alchemical Engineers: Working alongside Pyrmidian Ghouls, Blighters refine the "Mêzel-Blight" toxin, a substance designed to dehydrate and crumble nature-touched flora.
  • Mist-Walkers: Utilizing their affinity for desolation, they venture into the mists of Khimrathil to deploy "Blight-Canisters," expanding the dead zones for Sakullêth's loggers.
  • Resistance Targets: Their operations are frequently sabotaged by the "Green-Fury Resistance," making Blighters the priority targets for the Sprite Druid Thistle-Sting.
