The Ebonmurk is a subterranean sea of the Onvorn Region. This dark sea is replenished by numerous waterfalls, whirlpools, and waterways from the surface. Some of the whirlpools of the Ebonmurk have a reverse flow, transporting anyone who enters upwards to the inland Galathien sea. The Galathien, in turn, has whirlpools that safely convey vessels down to the Ebonmurk. These magical whirlpools are known as the Vortices of Khushnír, created during the Horgon Era by a Fomorian conjurer of the same name. In western Onvorn, the sea is fed by the Nedullu, a wide river originating far north at the southern tip of the Heliotrope Sea.

Above and below Ebonmurk, towering stalagmites and stalactites dominate the landscape. Numerous fortified settlements of Underdark peoples have been constructed upon these geological formations. Scattered across the vast expanse of water are countless islands. It is a common sight to behold boats traversing this waterway, some of which belong to tradesmen hailing from the surface world.

The trade winds of the Ebonmurk originate from the numerous chasms and apertures dispersed across the surface of the Lands of Purity. Several of these openings admit substantial illumination, fostering the growth of abundant fungi, vegetation, and the occasional raiding parties. These marauders leverage the light to surprise creatures more adapted to the shadows.
