In the Year 1275, this area was inundated by the energy of a Cube of Arcane. Originating from a device hundreds of miles away, this so-called Cube Taint gradually led to the desertification of a once verdant plain. Subsequent surges from the phenomenon known as COA 411 further transformed the land's inhabitants, including the Sadar-Nizar. Once centaurs, they evolved into a new race, their equine lower bodies replaced with scorpion-like appendages, and their humanoid upper bodies now covered in a chitinous exoskeleton.
