| Map | Gwaellurth Forest |
Gwaellurth is an evergreen woodland situated along the elevated terrain of the northeastern Ghaks region. It begins at the edge of Tulandur. The forest then extends northward and westward through the Iruk valley, before curving northwest along the northern flank of the Gakhs. It continues on, finally terminating at the Tunzâr river. This woodland has long been a subject of contention, serving as a battleground for conflicts between the Rúmil and Fargimdal empires.
In the Third Gwaellurth War (1670 - 1685), a mortal hero named Aredhel perished alongside thousands of others. Upon her death, she ascended to the divine realm. Gwaellurth was thereafter blessed with a powerful regrowth magic that manifests monthly. Trees and vegetation, unnaturally felled or destroyed, now regrow within a matter of weeks. Consequently, Fargimdal's lumber companies gained a renewable source of timber, diminishing potential conflicts with neighboring regions.
