The immense fortress of Lazoth stands imposingly on Bonebreeder Point, looming over the fog-shrouded waters of Satheon. Constructed from countless magically fortified bones, these remains were harvested from the defeated undead that perished during the tumultuous Black Tide War (1465 - 1486). During this conflict, the transport of massive quantities of bones by merchant ships from the ports of Paradomea City and Zayr became known among sailors as the notorious Bone Run.

The grisly walls and interior of Lazoth are patrolled by groaning spirits, vampires, ghouls, legions of skeletons, and a host of other more powerful and intelligent undead. Lazoth reverberates with necromantic power, enabling the sentient walls to spawn skeletons in its defense. The sinister nature of Lazoth prevents the functioning of good-aligned spells within a mile of the fortress, which also radiates a varying intensity green glow. At higher luminosity, the glow serves as a lighthouse for sailors, but fluctuations in brightness can lead to shipwrecks and the inevitable doom of her crews at the hands of ravenous ghouls.
