In the Creation War, this area became the home of brass dragons that had retired from the war effort. They assisted the Covenant when necessary, but otherwise endeavored to remain neutral to the proceedings for the final two centuries of the conflict. During the Demon Spawn War, they were pressed by Demogorgon's armies, which sought to utilize the Dargith River for an upriver advance into Grashakh. It was during these arduous times that they devised a means of supplementing their limited numbers with magical beasts. The most abundant of these were the dragonnes.
The area was given the name Ripper due to the flesh-stripping sands that frequently blow across a thirty-mile stretch of the river. On the east side lies the Sands of Hell, while the other side features a breach in the Trudnar mountains leading into Agulbandal. When Surtur created the Vaermund volcano, the breach acted as a suction, drawing in the cool air from the Sands of Hell and fueling the raging fires across Agulbandal.
Thousands of years later, Ripper remains home to dozens of brass dragons and thousands of dragonnes that traverse a sprawling expanse. The treacherous winds of Ripper, while not as perilous as in ages past, still necessitate that passing vessels be fortified, with decks cleared and portholes sealed.
