Map Rute River

The Rute is a broad and swift-flowing river that originates in the Ice Cap region. The upper portion of the river is frequently obstructed by chunks of ice that continually break free from the glacier. In this area, the melting of the glacier is largely attributable to the hot geothermal waters of Bilmgar and the heat emanating from the northern Temple of Begnhidrir. The ice flowing down the river is a distinctive blue ice, similar to much of the ice found across the Ice Cap. The ice can be encountered as far as Sathulkazar before the warmer temperatures of Cinazan reduce it to water.

The river Rute broadens significantly after Sathulkazar, expanding to nearly two miles in width and then swelling to five miles as it approaches Hullbreaker Bay.

The spring thaw of the glaciers of the Ice Cap is known as the Ice Cap Melt. This season of melting invariably leads to severe flooding of the Rute.
