Tamoroc is an expansive temperate steppe spanning the Tribe Steppes region and extending into the Great Expanse. The halflings of the Seven Vales were the first to designate this area as Tamoroc. The giants of Harongrand and Onvargard had their own name for it, the Giant word Aslagni, a combination of two terms meaning "easy prey".
In the Demon Spawn War ( 89 GE - 269 GE ) , thousands of centaur-like demons known as armanites roamed freely through the region. They comprised the vanguard of demon infantry advancing northward from sector Lirgaza. These demon armies fought under the banner of the rising demon lord, Demogorgon, driving Covenant forces back. However, their progress began to falter only when they reached the expansive Great Expanse. This occurred as the fragmented demon armies and lengthy supply lines succumbed to the pressure of attacks from a substantial halfling and celestial army under Avandra, as well as flanking assaults by the giants of Jofgried and Kolmgar - descendants of those who had once served the primordials during the Creation War.
In the First Epoch, these plains became the home of another type of centaur, the Jara. They traverse the steppe in bands, nomadic until a Khan emerges, establishing a Jara Horde. While Jara numbers may swell at times, they pale in comparison to the region's vast beast herds. In fact, the seemingly boundless equine population even led fringe groups in Ak'mrîtun to worship them.
Tamorac is the central region of The Hoof Arc, a succession of grasslands where sizable animal herds traverse in pursuit of sustenance. The sole reason the Jara have not eradicated these herds is due to the persistent discord amongst themselves and the plundering of neighboring territories.
