Kolmgar is an ancient ruin situated near the northern boundary of Morteban. The colossal structure was constructed by earth giants boasting bloodlines tracing their origins to the laborers and warriors who served Hettar during the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE).
The colossal citadel, situated atop the towering plateau of Onvargard, was largely a neutral power during the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE). It was only when Demogorgon's forces were being pushed back by Coveant forces under Avandra that Kolmgar took a more active role.
In the Lith-Crillion Era, Kolmgar was one of two dominant city-states situated within the expansive Tribe Steppes; the rival locale being Jofgried.
In the Horgon Era, the city of Kolmgar was conquered by the Gadstill Dynasty. It continued as a vassal city-state of this Titan Empire for almost four hundred years. Following the collapse of the Gadstill Dynasty, Kolmgar once more became an autonomous city-state.
In the First Epoch, the city commenced to endure onslaughts by the Jara Khans and their hordes. By the second century of the First Epoch, Kolmgar had become a desolate ruin.
Late in the Third Epoch, the dragon cult Vith Alok commenced rebuilding portions of this expansive ruin. The 17th Dragon Headmaster, Drog'paagol, designated this location as a potential new headquarters after encountering difficulties with the leadership of the Orchish Empire. Following his eviction from the depths of Fort Hellstorm, Drog'paagol transferred the Cult's headquarters to Kolmgar. This place, with its grand halls, chambers, and chimneys, provides a far superior headquarters for the Cult's dragons and other mighty creatures.
