Jofgried is a colossal ruin situated upon the Harongrand plateau. Its builders were stone giants and earth archons who had once served under Geb during the tumultuous Creation War, which raged from (1486 DE to 8777 DE).
Two centuries after its founding, Jofgried was a thriving independent city-state. In the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), they battled Demogorgon's armies as the latter pushed up the plains towards the Great Expanse. Built on a highly defensible plateau, the demons suffered heavy losses numbering in the tens of thousands. They eventually resorted to blockading the city while their armies marched through the grasslands flanked by the two great plateaus. A decade later, this decision to bypass an entrenched enemy proved their undoing when Avandra's armies began pushing the demons back from the Great Expanse. The giants of Jofgried and Kolmgar, aided by Geb and his army (allies of the Quara'tun Covenant), launched attacks on the enemy flanks. Several months later, they were joined by an air wing of dragons led by Bahamut. These battles across the Tamoroc plain lasted for a year, ultimately resulting in the loss of three demon armies. Demogorgon was present throughout the fighting, and in one battle, later dubbed Geb's Near Fall, the demon lord nearly decapitated Geb. Geb was only saved when Bahamut arrived and diverted Demogorgon's attention from the ailing deity. Avandra then healed Geb, and a team of mammoths dragged him to safety. After the victory, stone giants constructed an elaborate memorial in Jofgried, depicting carved episodes of the battle.
In the Horgon Era, Jofgried succumbed to the armies of the Gadstill Dynasty. It remained a vassal state of the Gadstill Dynasty for over a millennium. When the Gadstill Dynasty weakened due to over-expansion, the southern strongholds of Harongrand and Onvargard rebelled. The slave uprisings left Jofgried in ruins. A small population of stone giants persisted in the area into the First Epoch, but they were eventually eradicated by roaming Jara.
One of the most frequented regions of this ruin is the Jofgried Titan Forge. The esteemed Jara of Tamoroc and the renowned Tungesti of Grern have long employed this forge in the crafting of mighty armaments.
