The Yeenoghus Spittoon is a 3500' diameter, 1700' deep hole located in Skycius. In the First Epoch, a Gnoll tribe, having learned of easy plunder from Pellangoth's goblins, traveled west through the Pass of Rungalur to the edges of this vast chasm. They came, like others before them, to prey upon the riches moving about in the depths below. The gnolls attacked the merchant traffic traveling to and from Gaereaus, sometimes even brazenly assaulting the confederation's major strongholds. On the northern side, the gnolls constructed Kugirmuk, using ropes, paths, and roads to reach the shores of the Heliotrope Sea, where they continued their raids and plunderings.
The gnolls of Skycius and Zyrath were, for a long time, an ignorant people, behaving in a bestial manner. Those who settled at Yeenoghus Spittoon were unaware that their activities were the work of the demon lord they worshiped. This demon lord, Yeenoghu, preferred to maintain this state of ignorance. He was embarrassed by what transpired here, where an entire army was crushed by an undermining effort against Achamâz; this occurred during the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), when Achamâz was a bastion of good, a place of healing for the Covenant.
