On 6 Warper 1202, the dragon cultists of Sos Vrii created the Ved'ogiim. Also known as black orcs, they were the result of infusing several dozen pregnant Githirmil with the blood of an ancient black dragon. This cross-breeding produced a being that was muscular, black-skinned, and exceptionally strong. They inherited an ogre's dim-witted nature and unsightly appearance, as well as the black dragon's ebony skin and potent acid breath. However, they also displayed greater intelligence and nimbleness compared to an ogre, traits believed to stem from their Githirmil lineage.
Sos Vrii's work did not gain widespread acceptance in the Orchish Empire. They viewed it as a regression from the techniques employed by their emperor, Blac'drugulois, which involved recasting orcs into Githirmil. Owing to public opposition, the High Command outlawed the creation of more Ved'ogiim. However, they continued to be produced beyond the empire's reach. The High Command openly utilized them in the military, recognizing their evident value on the battlefield and deploying them to garrison dangerous outposts.
In the Third Epoch, the Orchish Empire, under the rule of Monty the Mad, deemed it permissible to create Ved'ogiim. Habituated to witnessing or learning about "black orcs" for centuries, the majority deemed this law an obsolete relic of the past.
