The Slaad Hexos were six elite guardians who faithfully served Tarâk during the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE). Each of these protectors was a mortal humanoid whose mind had been altered, bound to their master, and driven by unwavering loyalty. Historians claim the Slaad Hexos were so devoted to their liege that they would unhesitatingly sacrifice themselves to shield him from harm.
Tarâk and his retinue were astounded when they ventured deep into Ilabizdum. They pursued the lowest shaft left behind by an ancient purple worm called Krephus, one that had excavated tunnels across numerous worlds of the Quara'tun System.
At a depth of approximately 5,000 miles, an army of enslaved elemental miners commenced the final two-hundred-mile excavation towards a ribbon of entropy known as the Decomposition String. The lead taskmaster of the dig, an enslaved earth titan, cautioned Tarâk that even his near-divine status would not shield him from the raw chaos radiating from the Decomposition String. Undeterred, Tarâk pressed forward, driven by his need for a powerful energy source to fuel his World Splitter.
Exposure to the Decomposition String exacted a severe cost from everyone. Tarâk and the Slaad Hexos became infused with its influence. Tarâk obtained his warp matter at the sacrifice of his physical form and moral integrity. His Slaad Hexos endured even greater torment as their master amassed his warp matter. Shielding him from the whipping, entropic tendrils, each guard was struck repeatedly.
The guard Ssendam transformed, his torso elongating and fattening into a purplish worm-like body, culminating in a tail with a venomous stinger. The guard Yanghast altered her shape, becoming a pulsating mass of flesh with numerous flailing appendages, retaining only her white orbs from her original form. The remaining four Slaad Hexos metamorphosed into frog-like humanoids of diverse colors and dimensions, the first of the slaadi race.
In the God Era, the Slaad Hexos were located, then banished from the Mortal Systems. Exiled to Limbo, successive generations came to refer to themselves as the Scions of Slaadi, eventually simplified to merely the slaadi.
The four branches of slaadi that originated from the Slaad Hexos are the death slaadi, gray slaadi, green slaadi, and the blue slaadi.
