By 1255, the Pitch Bone Legion had expanded to more than 2,000 undead. This horde was under the control of the Cult of Worms. Directed by this malevolent organization, the undead ravaged the lands of Kal-Oni and battled its armies. They destabilized Kal-Oni territory, creating an opening for those dissatisfied with the current government. In 1260, the Kal-Oni War (1260 - 1266) commenced. As this conflict raged, the Pitch Bone Legion remained a constant threat, growing in strength as the death toll mounted.
In 1266, a civil war and devastating attacks by the Pitch Bone Legion culminated in the fall of Kal-Oni. The Lances of Merioss, members of the Gwaeldior Alliance, marched against the undead to prevent them from continuing to menace the people of Hells Womb. The battle was waged across and within the hills of Mynzuth.
The confrontation concluded with the Lances of Merioss decimating the Pitch Bone Legion.
