Lolth founded the first drow empire of Thiliorúth. When she ascended to Cult Power in 401 LE, her empire was left without a clear successor, leading to a devastating civil war. Some of the losers were exiled, while others vanished or departed of their own volition. In 411 LE, one such group, primarily composed of Drow, left their homeworld of Kriav and, after traversing a feywild fuse, settled the abandoned Covenant ruin of Tyelmantar.
