In 1047, Blac'drugulois, a master by conquest and the leader of the Arduous March (1041 - 1096), ventured into lands tentatively claimed by Nárfaltuin's fey.
The construction of Gúluzgash provoked perilous pranks by the forest's Pixie inhabitants. Clear-cutting, described as "reducing their enemy's hiding places", prompted antagonistic actions in 1048. Blac'drugulois's orc legions engaged in combat with the wood elves of Lorthrindal, as well as centaurs, pixies, and an assortment of other fey entities.
Times of outright conflict and intervals of dormancy, the War of Nárfaltuin endured for nearly a century. It marked the commencement of the demise for the Lorthrindal. As the war progressed, Blac'drugulois's Orchish Empire expanded towards the north.
In 1060, the venerable elven city of Elalmoth was pillaged. Wood elves, all tracing their lineage to Galadriël, persisted in the forests with their resistance. For twenty years, they confronted a formidable foe using guerrilla maneuvers, impeding their northward territorial seizure, and staging raids on a series of outposts and fortifications from Gúluzgash to Othragmac.
By 1081, Nárfaltuin had largely fallen under the Fograth, the military arm of the Orchish Empire. The refugees fled southeast into the Maar'tolaak Forest and then sought shelter in their capital city Estandarenya. Blac'drugulois, rejecting all peace negotiations, carried the war across the Glumgard and into the homelands of Lorthrindal.
The prosperous reign of Lorthrindal came to a decisive conclusion in 1130, as the illustrious city of Estandarenya succumbed to the formidable might of the Orchish Empire.
