A product of the Varelay Upheaval (2608 LE - 16 HE), Illadvard was established by several hundred Firenewt individuals who had been stranded on an unfamiliar world. Expelled amidst the eruptions of the Zathess volcano, the Firenewt of Illadvard, who revere Kossuth, are regarded as the most serene and welcoming people across the continent.
The year 1134, during the reign of Hellbleaker, saw Illadvard become a holding of the Goth-Dyvermoir empire.
In the year 1351, the conclusion of the Caralda Affair restored Illadvard's status as an autonomous city-state.
Illadvard is constructed across the principal lava river flowing northward from the volcano Zathess. Lava canals branching off from this river of magma extend into the city and downward, where after traversing miles of canals and residential areas, they converge with a sizable lava artery known as Surturs Eyebrow. Situated on this lava river is the Port of Illadvard, a gateway to a trade network spanning distant continents and, through secret rifts, faraway worlds.
