In 537 HE, numerous Durkoth and their subordinates escaped their world aboard massive arks known as the Helas Vessels. These imposing ships transported their hosts across the Void to the planet Bal-Kriav. In 862 HE, they landed far apart from one another. One of these vessels was the Spire of Rioch Tetrax, which came to rest in the southern reaches of the Troll Bogs. Among the settlements established for the Durkoth was Nagdúrzol, which proved to be the most habitable and prosperous under the guidance of Rioch-Tetrax, given the region's challenges such as disease, wet terrain, and hostile entities on the surface.

Though constructed by Dromites, Nagdúrzol was built to accommodate the Durkoth. Its design differs significantly from the typical Dromite hive-city. Nonetheless, the builders created areas and passages suited only for those of average three-foot stature. This eventually evolved into a lattice surrounding the entirety of the Durkoth living quarters and the barracks of their Laupha overseers. Though unproven, it is rumored that in one of these secretive enclaves, Dromite slaves developed a psionic disease that led to the Durkoth's mutations, granting them bodies and minds more suitable for the seas.

In the Durkoth Descent (995 HE - 1355 HE), the Durkoth abandoned their charges, departing the surface for the seas. Around 1150 HE, those at Nagdúrzol and the surrounding areas ventured far out into the Pearl Sea to Tyelcirion. Eight years later, all the Durkoth had either vanished or perished. The Laupha were left masterless, a novel predicament for these proud people. They showed no interest in continuing their ignoble duties as overseers, allowing the slave populations to fend for themselves. This proved problematic at Nagdúrzol and other surface settlements. The slaves lacked medical expertise, as the Durkoth had prohibited their education in such matters. Likewise, religion was exclusive to the Durkoth, leaving the slaves without spiritual guidance. Disease, ever-present in the Troll Bogs, inevitably spread to Slilp-Urp. For two decades, it exacted a heavy toll on the population. Eventually, the slaves embraced the faiths of Giracian and Ptah, with the Dromites, once the largest slave contingent, favoring Ptah's psionic inclinations. While struggling to survive, nearly half of Nagdúrzol's Dromites departed, joining trade vessels bound for distant lands or ferrying to the pirate enclaves of the Buccaneer Archipelago, including the incubator settlement of Zerot. The remaining inhabitants of Nagdúrzol eventually revived their civilization, obtaining the necessary healing from their priests and filling technological gaps by welcoming Gal'palos migrants.

During the rule of the Farinteen Empire, Nagdúrzol emerged as a significant trade hub for merchandise bound for the Underdark.
