The Sanguine Whispers was established by fourteen valorous mercenary heroes who emerged victorious from the Tradeway Wars ( 1131 - 1231 ) . Hailing from diverse races and origins, they leveraged their renown and riches to create a guild dedicated to training elite operatives, intelligence agents, assassins, saboteurs, and technical experts.

In 1206, the Sanguine Whispers played a minor role in the Witch-Pack War ( 1190 - 1240 ) . Hired by the Witch Horde, they eliminated Khro'gaz Drugnod, the leader of the Garormuk Federation. They would subsequently carry out two more such assassinations, targeting the so-called "False Drugnods."

Sanguine Whispers is renowned for its expertise in espionage, assassinations, infiltration, sabotage, and other clandestine operations. Driven by financial incentives, the organization is willing to collaborate with any entity that meets their compensation requirements.

In the year 1469, the guild established the Tangled Weave, an institution dedicated to the education and training of web weavers.

In the year 1479, the Sanguine Whispers regrettably lost their Ebonstar to the Black Tide empire.

In 1481, the group Squad X7E discovered monkey-like minotaurs residing in the Manduggiss Trench. These Sig-Lorm were assisted in departing a place they had inhabited since the Lith-Crillion Era. Thousands were resettled at Hinnbjalf, where they would revive and propagate civilization, security, and prosperity for the subsequent two centuries. At Hinnbjalf, the Sig-Lorm pursued cultural and social advancements over warfare. They restored the city's renowned status, hosting grand events such as the annual Sig-Lorm Chariot Race, which featured up to thirty competing chariots. In its inaugural year, Squad X7E participated in this event with distinction.

In the final month of 1476, the organization suffered a significant setback when they were driven out of Outpost Prime by the Har'kish Empire. This occurred after an attempt to destroy Har'kish's terror weapon, the Hand of Gith. Losing their headquarters, the survivors fled towards the subterranean reaches of Orryn. Eight years later, they established their new headquarters in the gloomy expanse of the Shadow Rift. As part of a land agreement with Ink-Shad, the dominant authority in the Shadow Rift, they relocated their arcane operations to Gaudrith, opening the doors of the Tangled Weave to a wider audience.

Sanguine Whispers is renowned for its specialized divisions, referred to as Squads . The most extensively documented of these is Squad X7E. Their operations are frequently studied by other covert organizations.
