In 546, the uncivilized practices of the gnolls and other nomadic tribes were constrained with the rise of the Drugnods. This family and their dynastic line of empresses headed the Drugnod Dynasty (546 - 746), ushering in a period of enlightenment and advancement unprecedented for the Gnoll people. The Drugnod dynasty was eventually toppled during the Hlothangi Insurgency. Following this civil war, a republic was formed with a senate representing the interests of the territories, established by Order 3C. The Yagamph Republic (746 - 956) then reached an even higher level of cultural and intellectual achievements.

The turmoil that had previously afflicted the Drugnods also engulfed Yagamph. Fringe elements living outside the cities coveted the wealth and comforts of urban civilization. The leader of this rebellion was the usurper Orkutun, who sought to return the Gnoll people to their nomadic roots, where distribution was based on strength rather than the written word. He spearheaded a protracted civil war that endured for two decades. Orkutun quickly abandoned Kennel and other cities once he had seized them. The people of Yagamph were compelled to take refuge in the wilds, bickering over the spoils of a fallen empire.

In the year 1143, numerous Zyrath's nobles convened at the Broken Teeth gathering. During this assembly, the Kashu'khas formed a federation for mutual protection, demarcated territorial limits for each faction, giving rise to the Garormuk Federation.
