Anube Nilkhâs was renowned as one of the foremost mages of the First Epoch. She served as a wizard-governor of Tamlêrran from 680 to 740. During the final decade of her governorship, she engaged in a protracted conflict with her stepbrother, Igacin. To outsiders, this war was known as the Nilkhâs Feud, but to Anube and her brother, it was merely a game in which they seemed to disregard the consequences for those around them.
When the siblings were nearing the end of their earthly days, with life-extension measures providing diminishing returns, they commenced constructing two grand artifacts. In certain circles, it is rumored that Anube discovered her brother's work on a throne, a potent artifact designed to ensnare his psyche and, once inside, command the surrounding territory and summon mighty armies. Anube swiftly followed suit, her agents uncovering the secrets of its construction from unattended plans, the renowned master Igacin affording his younger sister a modicum of fair play.
On 17 Hollow 751, Anube successfully transferred her psyche into her Pumice Throne. One of her initial actions in this new form was the creation of the Glothreth Rift, which precipitated the onset of the Thrones War. A month later, her step-brother followed suit, assimilating himself within his Glacial Throne and subsequently generating the opposing Indraph Rift. The Nilkhâs siblings have waged their game of chess, the Thrones War, for over a millennium.
The psyche of the Pumice Throne, Anube, serves as the guiding force behind the Cinderfall Empire.
