Created Dawn Era

Ingugrek was forged by the primordial Piranoth. He was constructed to serve as a primordial siege engine for Piranoth's forces engaged in the Creation War. Ingugrek endured numerous battles and succeeded in capturing Weretopia from the angels and the gods. Eventually, Ingugrek was seized by the god Bal-Kriav and the Golden Seven, who entombed him within a hill named GirĂ¢n. They employed magic to bind Ingugrek to the earth, ensuring that any attempt at resistance on his part would be met with an equally formidable resistance from the living, magical ground surrounding him.

In the Lith-Crillion Era, the hill was investigated by Lith-Crillion relic seekers. They detected a potent magical presence within the hill and thus commenced excavation. Upon learning that it contained a prison, they grew apprehensive about the consequences of freeing the immense stone giant. Concerned that their efforts may have compromised the prison's integrity, they constructed a ziggurat over and around the hill, then fortified the location to the best of their magical capabilities. The ziggurat and the settlement that emerged around it became known as Crillius-Sarrus.

In the year 177 LE, a magical experiment gone awry in Crillius-Sarrus caused the living earth prison around Ingugrek to weaken. The stone colossus shook the city as he attempted to break free, toppling buildings and the ziggurat above him. The top arcanists of the city pooled their magic and created a null field that not only subdued Ingugrek, but also nullified all magic in the city and over a vast expanse of land surrounding it - an area that came to be known as the Dead Magic Zone, or Balormene. As long as the Dead Magic Zone persists, Ingugrek will remain dormant.
