Steirgar spent the first seven centuries of his existence as a soldier of the primordials. Abducted while still an egg, he was reared by fire giants, becoming one of Surtur's most battle-hardened steeds. Surtur's notions of equality, as though a fire giant could stand on par with a dragon, drove the pair apart. After the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), with Surtur retreating into obscurity, Steirgar retired to the northern peaks of Brucrumus, to a location then known solely on Covenant maps as a grid coordinate.
Roused during the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), Steirgar proceeded to eliminate thousands of demons and Covenant combatants. Disinterested in the concerns of either faction, he even declined to convene with his former mentor Surtur, now a subordinate of a new Covenant.
The aged Steirgar met his end in the peaks that would henceforth bear his name, the Fangs of Steirgar.
