The Jolmgar archipelago extends along the center of the Erethor channel sea. To the east lies the continent of Amachan, while Brucrumus borders the islands to the west. According to Shou historical accounts, cyclops have inhabited the Jolmgar islands since the Dawn Era.
During the Great Exodus ( 998 - 1017 ) , the Khazarkar Empire boarded their ships and fled northward past these islands. When they attempted to obtain water for their fleet, they were met with a barrage of missile fire and cyclops armed with bristling weapons and exceptionally strong, expertly crafted armor. The Khazarkar foragers suffered greatly from the cyclops, who viewed their sizeable refugee fleet as an invading force. It was not until the Third Epoch that the cyclops warmed to outsiders. They have since evolved in their interactions with foreigners and generally recognize the benefits of cooperating with other civilizations.
The greater cyclopes of the islands are highly intelligent, accomplished blacksmiths capable of creating exceptional magical items. One of the legendary forges of the realm is located on the island of Erli Hervild. The Jolmgar Crater Forge, once utilized by the cyclops Taurlundrex, sits near the center of this island. At this forge, the chaos sword Oblivion was forged by Taurlundrex and the primordial Asoun.
Fjollaug is the largest cyclops settlement in Jolmgar. It is here that greater cyclops produce some of the largest cannons of Bal-Kriav. Their siege guns can be found as far north as the Khazarkar Empire, south to Angvild, and among the coastal batteries of Ivory Asylum. One of their most renowned and coveted pieces is the Cyclops Harbor Cannon. These weapons are so massive that crews of giants are frequently hired to operate them.
