Belras Foroderch is renowned as one of the premier destinations in the realm for the study of the arcane arts. Established during the God Era by some of the earliest mortal devotees of the newly formed deity Arcana, the institution was constructed on the northernmost island of Jolmgar. Designed to accommodate any seeking to pursue magical studies alongside like-minded individuals, the expansive campus was largely built by the cyclops of Jolmgar, whose architectural sensibilities are evident in the structure's defining features - large, rounded openings serving as windows and entryways, domed roofs atop columns, and circular building layouts. The window apertures of Belras Foroderch are furnished with either single panes or intricate latticeworks, all crafted from the gleaming glass harvested from the smoldering lands of Gludragh.
The site for its construction was selected due to its proximity to an arcane marvel known as COA 411. Some even claim that it sits at the intersection of a band of power flowing between the Cube, Gludragh, and Ice Cap - regions imbued with magical emanations from the Cube. The study of magic has long been underway at Belras Foroderch, leading some to become worshipers or fanatics of the Cube. One of the largest of these groups is the Cube Zealots, who, though viewed by many as eccentrics or crazies, are valued for their research on the Cube of Arcane.
In the Second Epoch, the arcanists of Belras Foroderch commenced work on a network of towers and structures intended to contain, redirect, or manipulate the energy emanating from the Cube of Arcane. This elaborate construction is known as the Foroderch Cordon. The inaugural two components of this marvel were established as part of the Voruth Anharr Project.
As a consequence of the ongoing conflict between the Eldritch Conclave and the Khazarkar Empire, the city of Belras Foroderch is teeming with Khazarkar spies and assassins. Nevertheless, a prudent and formidable Eldritch mage may still navigate the city without being eliminated.
