Tazu HidyalCube Zealots

Tazu Hidyal is an ancient order of psionic monks and arcanists. The group originated in the Horgon Era with Shou researchers studying the world's Cube of Arcane, or more specifically the COA 411. They disseminated the message of the Cube's connection to the Web of Magic, a reservoir for all the world's arcane energy. Situated sufficiently close to the Jolmgar isles to sense the Cube's pulse, they conducted research, some engaged in prayer, and others assumed a self-imposed guardianship of the Cube. Due to a history of acting as guardians and occasionally exhibiting fanatical behavior, they are sometimes referred to as Cube Zealots.

Like other venerable organizations, the Tazu Hidyal has experienced its fair share of internal conflicts and purges. This has often arisen from those who have taken their custodial role too far or sought to exploit the Cube's seemingly boundless reserves of arcane energy. When the Khazarkar Empire established settlements on the eastern shores of Cinazan, the Cube Zealots nearly met their demise.

The psionic aspect of the order emerged from two distinct groups. One was dedicated to the Cube spiritually - for merely being in its presence clears the mind and enhances mental capabilities. The other group consisted of individuals fleeing Shounejo persecution, who blended the martial discipline of the monk with the ways of the mentalists.
