Rest is an island at the core of Ghol Markúl, which appears ordinary enough, except that Rest and the other islands comprising this region were once part of a single, larger island. During the Horgon Era, Poseidon intervened in mortal affairs with the Sundering of Ghol Markúl, which annihilated the Abâthigûrean forces on the island.
When the Ghol Markúl was shattered, it left behind a ring of sizable islands and innumerable smaller isles. The League of Gyalech lays claim to the remainder of the island. They utilize this landmass as a source for their shipbuilding timber. The majority of the island's wood consists of Hullback, harvested from the Hullback Forest. Until the Tyrian League theft in 1834, Rest was the sole provider of this highly coveted shipbuilding resource.
