Ermikel the Balance was the inaugural historian and record keeper for the First Khazarkar Empire. As the director of the Lore Institute at Mannakhôr, adhering to the principles of The Balance, he meticulously documented history from an impartial standpoint, a tradition that has persisted with the Loremasters of Ermikel.

Ermikel's investigations into what he termed the Dark Calling ultimately led to his demise. Rumor suggests the Realm Stalkers carried out his elimination, trapping his unholy essence and preventing Ermikel from reaching his phylactery buried beneath the ruins of Ermikel's birthplace, once the scholarly heart of the Khazarkar Empire, the once-great city of Mannakhôr. After an extensive search, Ermikel's phylactery was retrieved. It is said he was terminated on 3 Bloom 1000, his phylactery crushed, and his essence reabsorbed into the cosmos, with his negative energy claimed by Bal-Kraiv's black hungry moon and his other energies returned to their rightful places.
