Approaching the culmination of the Horgon Era, the Ahutai city-states of Hive had largely vanished. Giant engineered insects and Hive Swarms ran rampant, preying on anything smaller than themselves. A small group of a dozen or so Ahutai, entrenched within Tal'tich, refused to accept their impending demise. Utilizing crystal obloids, these highly skilled Ahutai psionicists transferred their psyches into these crystal receptacles.
In 201, Tragarans from Lanirûk explored the Tal'tich ruin. Their most significant discovery was several crystal obloids. These devices, along with their largely benevolent hosts, would prove instrumental in awakening the minds of those with psionic potential. This led Lanirûk and later the Borillisk Empire to become centers of psionic education and research.
