The Chari'they Alliance was the work of Matron Mother Chari'they of Eclavfryn. An esteemed drow priestess of Lolth, later a demi-lich, she rallied the trading houses of five far-flung city-states. The easternmost was the island city of Belephant-Elebros, the youngest city-state of Eclavfryn on the Ebonmurk, Filion'lyr and her feared Sisters of Baalzebul, the Matron Mother's home city of Charda'thrae, and in the far south of the ring, the grand port city of Vhurindrar. All Drow majority strongholds, positioned along the Great Tradeway, their military alliance afforded them a formidable position.
The conflicts that arose from the Chari'they Alliance, with each city-state pursuing its own objectives, became known as the Tradeway Wars (1131 - 1231). The central theme of these struggles was the monopolistic practices of the Irdrax Republic in the eastern regions.
In the year 1231, following internal discord and a succession of dramatic assassinations, including the elimination of the demi-lich Chari'they by the Sanguine Whispers, the alliance is shattered, concluding the Tradeway Wars.
