On a ridge above the Vuzlyn river, the settlement of Filion'lyr was established by Drow refugees. Once inhabitants of the world of Kriav, these former ThiliorĂșth citizens escaped through a feywild fuse, founding a new Drow civilization on the world of Bal-Kriav. From Filion'lyr, numerous strongholds would be established across the surrounding subterranean regions and along the Great Tradeway.
At the northernmost point of the city lies a magnificent waterfall and complex lock system known as The Mandible. During the city's final war with the aboleth, it was employed in draining the vast lake of the Caverns of Hlat'tar. This draining brought an end to the two aboleth city-states in that region, as well as centuries of economic hardship and strife.
The Sisters of Baalzebul are the cherished inhabitants of Filion'lyr. This esteemed all-female order formed the backbone of the Chari'they Alliance. Highly revered and dreaded, they are the sole reason the Church of Baalzebul is permitted to operate within the empire; without their presence, it would be a strict monotheism dedicated to Lolth.
