Arskel

The Arskel mountains are situated on the eastern fringe of the Sands of Hell. In the Giant tongue, Arskel translates to "chime", a name bestowed upon them by the giants of Bastleid. They were so christened due to the mountains' extensive network of mines and tunnels. Some of these subterranean passages traverse the peaks from one side to the other, a natural phenomenon attributed to the mountains' abundance of rock crystal and porous stone. In certain areas, the powerful gusts of sand emanating from the Sands of Hell blow through these tunnels, generating a chime-like resonance. In a few locales, the resulting cacophony is so overwhelming that prolonged exposure can induce madness, rupture eardrums, and, as in the case of Grynn Deigi, unleash devastating sub-sonic vibrations akin to a disintegrate spell.
