Avalê was a modest fortification owned by the Urkuzîr family. Constructed to safeguard their silver mines in the Armânuks and the adjacent quarry, Avalê gained renown for its marble. The keep yielded a vibrant red and white veined marble, destined for the affluent districts of Sakarumân and other prominent strongholds across the region.

During the initial stages of the Cinazan Front, the city of Avalê fell under the control of the Khazarkar military. It was subsequently transformed into a hospital, providing care for the sick and wounded soldiers battling across the rugged terrain of Armânuk.

In 1832, while war raged around the northeast, Avalê became the epicenter for three groups seeking an ancient artifact. On 4 Witchrite, the garrison was bombarded by the Pillar of Horns. After two hours of shelling, the once-thriving settlement lay in smoking ruins, with a party of minotaur marines perishing alongside their emperor while looting and subduing the survivors. Four days later, a Harvester from the Black Tide appeared over the devastation, collecting the corpses. Concurrently, a group of undead infiltrated the ruins, searching for the coveted ancient artifact. The following morning, another party, the Hulkurân Zagar, arrived and engaged the Harvester, destroying it and its crew. The Hulkurân Zagar then succeeded in obtaining the artifact, known as the Shield of Thular-Tûr.
