Holy Sanctum was constructed by the esteemed Farinteen Dynasty. This imposing and towering fortress, made entirely of the resilient Gûn Helmet, served as a formidable bulwark against the relentless raids from the Northern Hordelands. Over time, the site evolved into a renowned tournament arena and training grounds for those seeking to hone their martial skills before venturing forth to confront the barbarians of the northern realms. Additionally, it functioned as a hub of recruitment, religious fanaticism, and proselytization, with each dispatched group maintaining a presence. The Sanctum also served as the command center for the illustrious Lances of Merioss.

From 1481 to 1483, during the Luran Campaign, this stronghold and the surrounding region were assaulted and besieged by the undead legions of the Black Tide. In the final major attack of the siege, Dax the Death Priest and the Pitch Bone Legion stormed the stronghold from its seaside entrances.

After the Black Tide War, the remnants of Holy Sanctum became the command center for the Kambar-Ghul.

The Athenian Crusade ( 1539 - 1551 ) culminated in the encirclement of Holy Sanctum, culminating in the complete annihilation of Kambar-Ghul's military forces.

Today, the weathered siege works and trench lines of bygone conflicts litter the area, accompanied by the remains of tens of thousands. The ruins of Holy Sanctum are largely shunned, as roads and even game trails make a wide detour, with undead sightings frequently reported within the crumbling structures.

The hallowed Holy Sanctum contains the legendary Blood of Phalgas flowing into its dilapidated forge. Prior to the devastating Black Tide's assault on the sanctum, this enchanted current was harnessed to craft thousands of soul-fire armaments.
