Rorthurk sits at the headwaters of the Hound Wash. Constructed during the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), it guarded the southern approaches to Kennel, then the seat of power for a demon lord known as Yeenoghu.
Under the Yagamph Republic (746 - 956), Rorthurk emerged as a crucial trade hub, connecting the republic's capital with Muzratân and other enclaves of the Galathien Sea. However, following the republic's collapse in 956, Rorthurk was left in a state of ruin. Within a century, the once-thriving harbor and canals of Rorthurk, long maintained by the republic, became clogged with sediment and transformed into a marshy landscape.
