Toth Coeus is an unnatural ravine situated in the southern region of Tha'lith. It is the consequence of zealots dedicated to Coeus employing a tome intended for opening dimensional rifts. On 15 Artifice 2612 LE, with the objective of summoning their deity Coeus to their aid, they recited from the Irata Phelgas.

At the time of this landmark event, these fanatics and many others were under the tyrannical rule of Varelay, a demonic empire. Anticipating the insurgency, Emperor Aperoq enacted a countermeasure. When Coeus emerged through the rift, they fired a Sphere of Arcane energy into it, resulting in a tremendous explosion. For a mile in every direction, nearly everything was annihilated. Coeus was halfway through the rift when it collapsed, throwing him back to his world with grave injuries. In the jungles of Kazzatar on Bal-Kriav, the imploding rift left a deep, smoldering canyon. Aperoq named this new geological feature Toth Coeus, meaning "maw or mouth of Coeus."

Toth Coeus persistently exudes reddish-hued smoke. Legends assert that this unusual smoke coloration stems from a taint left by Coeus' injury when the gate was brought down upon him. The canyon is a jagged region encircled by miles of fractured ground and debris. It teems with platinum and gemstones. The challenge of scaling its unnaturally slick walls and the beasts lurking in the depths have deterred exploitation of the locale. The perfume Toth Musk is derived from the oil seepage in the canyon's walls. This perfume is highly sought-after for its scent and the difficulty in procuring it.

As a consequence of its proximity, the builders of the formidable Tas'dvr Mout fortress quarried stone from this ravine. This stone is known as Toth Rock. It imbues the ominous walls and towers of Tas'dvr Mout with an oily, smoky appearance akin to the canyon itself.
