Ugradrath is a formidable, towering mountain range stretching from northern Grashakh into the region of Cinazan. During the Horgon Era, the northern tracts of Ugradrath were claimed by the frost giants of Glangveif. The middle parts of these mountains, the so-called Warring Belt, were contested lands, battlefields for the fire giants of the Hofthorm Monarchy (145 HE - 101) and their adversaries from Glangveif.
The Alarthand, a swiftly flowing river, cleaves the mountains as it surges northward. Though traversable in its most remote sections, this formidable watercourse has long impeded passage. Currently, it serves as a natural boundary between the Orchish Empire to the south and the Khazarkar Empire to the north.
Having been the site of conflicts between the Titan Empires, the mountains are littered with the wreckage of past battles. Crossing this treacherous terrain with an army can be perilous, so some opt to travel underground, navigating a sprawling tunnel system built over three centuries of ongoing strife. The Fograth, the Orchish Empire's ground forces, constructed and continue to expand these eastward-advancing tunnels and subterranean strongholds. On numerous occasions, they have successfully employed these fortifications in major offensives against the Khazarkar Empire. When left unattended, these tunnels become sanctuaries for various beasts. For many denizens of the subterranean realm, unguarded means unclaimed, providing homes for trogs and other subterranean peoples.
On the surface, the principal path through Ugradrath is a rugged valley titled Lyfning Bar.
